Jay-Z appeared to give Cardi B and her forthcoming baby his blessing this weekend during round 2 of Beyonce’s Coachella set … a belly rub and prayer hands says as much, anyway.
Jay was spotted getting up close and personal with Cardi in the artist section early Sunday morning around 12:45 AM, after he’d performed a duet with his wife on stage.
He affectionately grabs her arms and then places his hands on top of her ever-growing baby bump. Cardi was seated during the interaction — ya know, ’cause she super pregnant … AND about to perform for the second weekend in a row BTW. Girl needs her rest.
Cardi B has pulled off a feat on the album chart, as her “Invasion of Privacy” (KSR/Atlantic) opens at No. 1 with the equivalent of 255,000 album sales in the United States, according to Nielsen. As Billboard noted, she is only the fifth female rapper in history to top the chart, after Nicki Minaj, Eve, Foxy Brown and Ms. Hill.
“Invasion of Privacy” also had the highest streaming week ever for a female artist, with 202.6 million streams of tracks from the album, beating Beyoncé, who logged 115 million for “Lemonade” two years ago. In addition to the streams, “Invasion of Privacy” had 103,000 sales as a complete album, on formats like CD and download.

Cardi B‘s sister Hennessy Carolina is not here for anyone criticizing the rapper’s pregnancy and the effect it might have on her career.
“Why is anyone saying anything so mean to someone? A baby is a blessing,” Carolina, 22, told People in an interview released Wednesday. “Why would you talk about it like it’s a bad thing? My sister is such a good person, I wouldn’t want nobody to talk bad about her. It really hurts. But I’m not gonna let them stress me out anymore. I’m tired of it!”
The “Be Careful” MC previously lamented the online speculation, especially by other women, that her pregnancy would put a stop to her promising career.
“It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh, I feel sorry for you, your career is over,’ and it’s like, ‘Why can’t I have both? Why do I have to choose a career or a baby?’” the rapper said.
“I have to prove [to] people that a baby won’t stop me … I just wish that I had a little bit more time for me to think for me,” she continued. “I didn’t like that people [were] harassing me. I had a whole bunch of friends calling me like, ‘Why did I have to find out [about your pregnancy] on the internet?’ … It’s something so precious and private to me, and I didn’t even get to keep that for myself.”
Thankfully, Cardi is only focused on the positive, especially after hitting No. 1 with debut album “Invasion of Privacy” and revealing her baby bump on “Saturday Night Live” after months of hiding it under her outfits.
“I know she’s happy,” Hennessy said. “No more people talking about her. I know she’s happy and she’s free. She can go out and eat food, not hide what she wants to wear.”
The rapper responsible for last year’s most unexpected hit emerged from a singular New York City story of strip clubs, gangs, and below-board basement butt injections. Navigating new fame and a new record, Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B is fighting to stay true to her Bronx roots while the world clamors for her to become a global superstar.
“I love…,” begins Cardi B—pink, glistening ribs in hand; slick, brick-colored barbecue sauce clotting under Swarovski-crystal manicure—and then hangs in silent pause. She does this a lot: stops like a cliff diver savoring the charged seconds before a jump. Her speech is hyper-fast but full of built-in extra time for you to catch up. For her to ensure you’re paying attention.
With the aid of cutting-edge Millennium science, in the form of orbicular breast implants and illegal buttocks injections, America’s sudden favorite rapper, Cardi B, has built her body for optimal viewing at medium-to-long-distance range. This engineering foresight helps explain why, before she began making music history (a randomly chosen milestone from her tennis bracelet of success: she is the first rapper to have her first three Billboard Hot 100 entries in the Top 10 simultaneously), she was not just a successful stripper but a wildly successful one. The hills and slopes of her body are so captivating that you might not even notice the delicate beauty of her countenance until it’s staring at you head-on from across a dimly lit restaurant booth while you wait to discover what it is that Cardi loves.
Tonight her hair, lately blonde, has been teased into a kind of spun-sugar bouffant: Cardi B as Jackie O. She is tiny enough that she can wear a long black tank top as a dress in a public restaurant, but for modesty’s sake she has added a rosebud pink sweatshirt over it. In big black letters, the sweatshirt says: ᴅᴇsɪɢɴᴇʀ ᴘᴜssʏ. Cardi finishes her sentence.
“…Franklin Delano Roosevelt.” She nods, agreeing with herself. “Yes.”
